I blamed my son for ruining his shoes.
I said it all the time.
"He’s just hard on shoes."
Toe wearing through?
Hard on shoes.
Sole disappearing after a couple of months?
Hard on shoes.
And I’ll admit something I’m not proud of.
Sometimes I’d look at a pair we’d spent almost $100 on and think:
"Can you PLEASE take care of something for once?"
I don’t think I ever said it out loud.
But I thought it.
A lot.
Then one night after practice, he kicked his shoes off near the door.
I picked one up.
The top looked fine.
Then I turned it over.
The sole under the front was almost gone.
Again.
I checked my email to see when I’d bought them.
Just over two months.
I actually laughed.
Not because it was funny.
More like:
"You’ve got to be kidding me."
At practice, I found myself watching his feet.
He ran for a ball.
Stopped hard.
Dragged his toe.
Pushed off sideways.
Then did the same thing again.
And again.
And suddenly I felt a little stupid.
He wasn’t ruining the shoes because he didn’t take care of them.
He was playing.
He was doing exactly what I was paying for him to learn how to do.
I was sitting there cheering for him to go after every ball…
Then getting annoyed because his shoes looked like he went after every ball.
That didn’t make much sense.
This is the part I didn’t know.
Around 10 to 14, kids aren’t just growing.
They’re also getting heavier and faster.
They stop harder.
They change direction faster.
And on a hard court, that can tear through shoes fast.
Research on junior court athletes shows that players ages 11 to 14 can wear shoes out in about 8 to 12 weeks when they play often.
So maybe my son wasn’t unusually rough on shoes.
Maybe the shoes simply weren’t keeping up.
That was a much better way to look at it.
I picked shoes the same way most parents do.
Brand.
Price.
Reviews.
Color he’d actually wear.
And that was about it.
I didn’t spend much time thinking about what the shoe had to do once he got on court.
That turned out to be the missing piece.
A court shoe has to deal with:
Hard stops.
Side-to-side movement.
Toe dragging.
A rough surface.
And repeated practice, week after week.
Once I saw that, I stopped looking for a normal athletic shoe.
I wanted one made for court sports.
I’d never heard of CUURT.
That actually made me more skeptical at first.
But the shoe itself made sense.
The Muuv has a wide toe box, so toes have room instead of being squeezed together.
It has lateral support for side-to-side movement.
It has a firm sole built for hard courts.
And CUURT gives the outsole a 6-month warranty.
That mattered because the outsole was exactly what kept wearing out on his old shoes.
I wasn’t looking for something fancy.
I wanted something that could take more abuse.
This sounds small, but it wasn’t.
I stopped getting mad at him.
Every worn toe came from going after a ball.
Every beat-up side came from stopping and changing direction.
The kid wasn’t careless.
He was playing hard.
That’s what I wanted.
I don’t want him thinking about protecting a pair of shoes during a match.
I want him thinking about the next point.
And I don’t want to sit on the sidelines thinking:
"There goes another $100."
I just want the shoes to keep up.
The research shows moms are willing to pay for good sports gear.
What makes them angry is paying premium prices and still getting poor durability.
That is exactly how I felt.
I don’t mind buying my son good equipment.
I mind buying it over and over because it falls apart too soon.
I’d much rather buy a pair that lasts until he actually grows out of it.
That became my goal.
Not perfect shoes.
Not indestructible shoes.
Just:
Outgrow them before you wear them out.
If your kid is 10 to 14 and keeps destroying court shoes, take a look underneath before you blame them.
Look at the toe.
Look at the sole.
Look at the sides.
Then watch one practice.
Watch how much they stop.
How much they push sideways.
How often the front of the shoe scrapes the court.
You might realize what I did.
They’re not being careless.
They’re asking a lot from their shoes.
If you’re tired of buying another pair every few months, CUURT Muuv is worth checking out.

The shoe is made for court movement and includes a 6-month outsole warranty.
That alone gave me more peace of mind than buying another pair and crossing my fingers.
You can keep replacing the same kind of shoe…
Or try one built around what your kid is actually doing on court.

"These shoes really give me a lot of room for my wide feet. The design definitely makes it so comfortable. My tennis peeps have commented on how they like the design of the shoe. At 71 y.o. I play almost daily! Hoping the outsole will last longer than some of the other name brand shoes I have been buying." - Rosita S.
"Wasn’t sure these shoes would be a good fit, but WOW they are great. Can’t believe the room in the toe box and the excellent fit to the heal of the foot. The shoes hold the court when playing and no discomfort!" - Diane J.
"My husband has played tennis and pickleball in shoes and loves them! He's played tennis for 55 years and in the last year had had issues with foot pain and swelling, now with his muuv shoes no more pain or swelling. Recently played for 4 hours in a pickleball tournament wearing these shoes and had no pain or swelling! Customer service has been wonderful! We got the wrong size initially and each email was responded to quickly. A new pair was sent and received within a week. When ordering I would suggest you size up 1 size. This has been a great experience and really impressed with the shoes! Highly recommend!" - Tona C.
